The "Saut" Association for the Education and Rehabilitation of People with Down Syndrome held a celebration of the outstanding educational and academic achievements of the association's male and female students during the past school year, attended by Eng. Mashari Al-Juwairah, Supervisor General of the General Administration for Social Responsibility and Volunteering at the Ministry of Education; Dr. Hisham bin Muhammad Al-Haidari, Chief Executive Officer of the Authority for the Care of People with Disability; and members of the association's board of directors.
For her part, the association's Secretary-General, Her Royal Highness Princess Moudi bint Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, stressed the importance of the support provided to this segment of society, noting that the celebration is an opportunity to showcase the achievements of the association's sons and daughters with Down syndrome and the notable progress in their academic level.
The event also featured a presentation on the story of the Saut Down Syndrome Association's founding in 1986, delivered by Executive Director Zainah Zaidan, who began her work with four children at the headquarters of the Al-Nahda Women's Charitable Association. The presentation traced the stages of the association's growth, which has made it today one of the most prominent specialized associations in teaching people with Down syndrome in Saudi Arabia, serving more than 4,000 beneficiaries.
