Supporting motor development and improving gross motor skills, enhancing balance, muscle strength, flexibility, and motor coordination.

The physical therapy team at SAUT provides specialized therapeutic services supporting motor development in people with Down syndrome. Therapists address common motor challenges associated with Down syndrome, including muscle weakness, low muscle tone, and delayed gross motor skill development.
The physical therapist assesses the child's abilities and designs an individual treatment program encompassing muscle strengthening, balance improvement, motor coordination enhancement, and the development of walking, running, and stair-climbing skills.
